She began identifying as female when she was two years old and completed gender reassignment surgery when she was 16 years old.
In 2007, she booked a lucrative deal to be the face of a chain of German hair salons. She was featured in H&M’s “Pride Out Loud” campaign in 2018. She has a YouTube channel with more than 340,000 subscribers.
In September 2007, Petras was a model for a German chain of hair salons. She was evaluated by the head of the psychiatric unit at Frankfurt Hospital, Dr Bernd Meyenburg, and approved for gender-confirmation surgery at 16 years old. In November 2008, Petras announced that the surgery was completed.
